DropComments

Comment on PDFs, sentence by sentence

Drop a proposal, a contract or a pitch deck. People select the exact words they mean and comment on them, in the browser, with no PDF reader and no account.

Drop a file

Free to start. Reviewers comment with just a name.

Why PDF feedback gets messy

Review a PDF by email and you get back “page 4, second paragraph, third line”, or five marked-up copies, each with different notes, that someone has to merge by hand.

One shared link fixes both. Everyone comments on the same copy, each comment is attached to the words it’s about, and the whole conversation is in one place.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop the PDF

It stays a PDF, up to 30 MB, with its text intact. Pages scroll one under another, like in a reader.

  2. 2

    Select and comment

Select a sentence and choose Comment: it’s highlighted in your colour and numbered. Or leave a note anywhere on a page, or draw a box around a chart.

  3. 3

    Share the link

Reviewers open it in any browser, a phone’s too, and add their own comments and replies.

What you get

Highlights on the text

A comment on text keeps the words it quotes, so the list makes sense even without the page.

Copy text out

The text stays selectable, so people can copy a figure or a clause instead of retyping it.

One copy for everyone

No versions to merge: every comment and reply lands on the same Drop, as it’s written.

Notes on charts and images

Box, arrow and pen marks work on PDF pages too, for the parts that aren’t text.

Questions

Do reviewers need Acrobat or another PDF reader?

No. The PDF opens in DropComments in any modern browser.

Is there a size limit?

A PDF can be up to 30 MB.

Can I leave a comment on the whole document?

Yes. Type in the field under the comments to comment on the whole document instead of a spot.
