Why design feedback goes wrong

Feedback on a design usually arrives as a paragraph: “the button near the top feels heavy, and can the second image be warmer?” You read it three times, guess which button, and send a new version that’s still not what they meant.

The fix is to let people point. When a comment sits on the thing it’s about, nobody has to describe where it is, and nothing gets lost between what they meant and what you heard.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your designs

PNGs, JPEGs, SVGs, GIFs or a PDF export. Drop several at once and they become a flow your reviewer steps through, screen by screen.

  2. 2

    Share the link

Send it by email, in a chat or in your project tool. Your client opens it in any browser, on a laptop or a phone.

  3. 3

    Collect the notes

They click to leave a note, or draw a box, an arrow or a line around what they mean. You see each comment as it’s written, reply to it, and resolve it when it’s done.

What you get

Comments with a place

Every comment is numbered by screen, like 2.3 for the third note on the second screen, so “see 2.3” is all anyone needs to say.

A picture on every comment

Each comment shows a small crop of the spot it’s about, so the list reads on its own.

Clients don’t sign up

A reviewer types their name and starts commenting. Signing in with Google is there for anyone who wants their Drops on every device.

A list to work from

Copy every comment as a Markdown list, ready for your task tracker or a coding agent.

Questions

Does my client need an account?

No. Anyone with the link can comment with just a name. They can sign in with Google if they like, which keeps the Drop in their list on any device.

Which files can I drop?

Images (PNG, JPEG, HEIC, WebP, AVIF, GIF and SVG), PDFs, HTML pages and Markdown. Big images are made smaller as they arrive so the link opens fast, and text in a screenshot stays readable.

Can I keep a review private?

On the free plan a link is public to anyone who has it and open for comments for 24 hours. Pro ($9 a month) keeps Drops open and makes them private to the people you invite.
